Originally settled by loggers, miners and ranchers in the late 1800's, Red Feather Lakes has remained virtually untouched since the village was established. Since 1924 when the village was originally platted for summer vacation cabins, Red Feather Lakes has become a premier destination for outdoor family recreation. Founded in 1924, The Hilltop store and area cabins still retain the character and charm of those early days while providing all the modern conveniences.
